than 60 funds to meet their charitable goals enabling them to
support the causes and organizations that touch their hearts.

Grown from assets of $1,050 when formed in late 1997 to more than $3 million.
- Made more than 450 grants totaling more than $770,000 to area
nonprofit organizations to serve the people of the tri-state area.
- One of only 17 Illinois Community Foundations chosen to
participate in the Communityworks matching fund initiative to establish a
permanent endowment that will focus on childcare, work force and
land use and protection.
- Among the first 200 Community Foundations to earn the
National
Standards Seal from the Council on Foundations for attaining the
highest standards of grant making integrity and standards.
- Involved in efforts to work with funders, nonprofits, and other
organizations to strengthen capacity, heighten awareness, and
provide guidance and leadership through participation or membership
