Lee Lindsay is no stranger to leadership. She has served as a board member and supporter of many local organizations. However, one holds a special place in her heart.

Lee has served as the president of the Quincy Habitat for Humanity since 1993. For Lee, her commitment to the organization goes beyond the normal call of duty. Because of her firm belief in the necessity of the Habitat ministry and her desire to see the ministry continue, she established the Habitat for Humanity Ministry Fund with her Community Foundation.

“Habitat provides a wonderful opportunity to families who may not otherwise have the chance to own a home,” she says. “It’s more than just the house; it’s the mindset of stability that home ownership provides.”

Lee appreciates the ease that giving through the Community Foundation allows. “Because of the fund, other people have an easy way to support the ministry,” she says, “and because of the nature of the Community Foundation, support for Habitat will continue long after all of us are gone.”
