The Plank Memorial Fund

PLANK0724 2 (266 x 378)

Dorothy Plank was a modest person who did not draw attention to herself.

A long time friend and her attorney both agreed that while living she would not have wanted people to know her estate plans. They also agree that what Miss Plank did serves as an example for others to consider when planning for charitable causes.

She thought long and hard about what she wanted to do to benefit others.

As a result, she set up three permanent endowment funds with the Community Foundation for organizations she cared about through her trust. Each fund supports various causes and organizations that mattered to her.

The Plank Memorial Fund provides support to The Lewis County (Missouri) Historical Society to house collections of historical value pertaining to northeast Missouri, in particular the settling and growth of Lewis County, Missouri, and to preserve and care for such artifacts, photographs and items to tell the story of the northeast Missouri area and its people.

This modest person’s thoughtful planning is a tremendous example of benevolence.
