Applying for a Grant
The goal of the Community Foundation of the Quincy Area is to strengthen our communities by supporting needs and opportunities in arts and culture, community betterment, education, health, and human services.

Grant requests are accepted from nonprofit organizations that are recognized as exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code. Applicant organizations must operate in at least one of the following 13 counties: Adams, Brown, Hancock, and Pike in Illinois, Clark, Lewis, Marion, Ralls, Pike, Knox, Shelby, and Monroe in Missouri, and Lee in Iowa.

Applications will not be accepted from organizations that have not completed reports for previous grant funds received from the Community Foundation.

Applications are reviewed and evaluated by the Grants Committee comprised of Board members and volunteers from the area. Grants are awarded in the fall.

Access the Online Grant System
Our Competitive Grant Program is utilizing a new online application and reporting system. Before beginning an application it is important for a potential grantee to read and understand the grant policy and guidelines.

Online Application available: March 1
Application Deadline: on or before midnight central time on June 1
Award Notification: September

Applying for an online grant through the Community Foundation is easy:

  • Step 1:  Click on the link to the Online Grant Application.
  • Step 2:  Create a New Account (first time only).
  • Step 3:  Once you have created a user ID and Password, log onto the Online Application.
  • Step 4:  Select the grant program you are applying for.

The organizations and the grants encompass all that contributes to quality of life- arts and culture, community betterment, education, health and human services.
