The
Center for Effective Nonprofits assists, promotes, represents and
strengthens
community
organizations as they improve the quality of life for those they serve.
It was founded through the collaborative efforts of Quincy University,
Tracy Family Foundation, Community Foundation of the Quincy Area, John
Wood Community College, United Way of Adams County, and University of
Illinois Extension. These agencies submitted and received a grant from
the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.
Our
mission is to help community organizations do what they do . . .
better. Services include:
- Funding the Cooperating
Collection (a foundation and grant library) located at John Wood
Community College
- Offering workshops, seminars, and
the Institute for Excellence in Leadership targeting Nonprofit
Executive Directors, their staff, volunteers and Boards of Directors
- Offering agency support
- Facilitating strategic planning
sessions and leadership retreats for nonprofits
