Community Foundation Welcomes New Staff Member

Kaylee McFarland Joins Team as Development Officer

The Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois & Northeast Missouri (Community Foundation) welcomes a new staff member to help fulfill its mission of connecting people who care with causes that matter. Kaylee McFarland has joined the Community Foundation as Development Officer. 
 
As Development Officer, McFarland will assist with the Community Foundation’s communications, development, and donor services efforts. She will also lead the Foundation’s marketing, public relations and event initiatives.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kaylee to the Community Foundation’s team as we continue to grow, evolve our staff, and focus our priorities,” said Catherine Bocke Meckes, Chief Executive Officer. “Kaylee has a breadth of experience building relationships, exploring needs and opportunities, and telling important stories throughout our region. Those experiences will serve The Community Foundation’s donors, grantees, and partners well as we strive to create and sustain meaningful change in our communities.”

Prior to joining the Community Foundation, McFarland held a career in broadcast news, where she researched and produced in-depth stories on many important issues facing West Central Illinois, Northeast Missouri, and Southeast Iowa, including access to quality child care, affordable healthcare, education, and workforce. 

“The Community Foundation’s impact lies with our donors and grantees. Each one of them have a story to tell. Kaylee’s experience will help us tell those stories to inspire local philanthropy and collaboration for the good of our region,” said Meckes.  

McFarland brings expertise in media relations, media production and relationship building. She is a graduate of Texas State University and has a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast/Communications.
