Teresa Lynn Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund

Benefits a Palmyra High School graduate

Teresa Thompson died May 11, 2004.

Her husband, Brad, donated memorial gifts to establish the permanently endowed Teresa Lynn Thompson Memorial Scholarship Fund in his wife’s name. The fund provides an annual scholarship at an accredited post-secondary institution for a graduate of Palmyra High School in Palmyra, Missouri.

Teresa, a Palmyra native and graduate of the high school, spent her life’s work in radio.

“She began with no experience at all in radio,” said Bud Janes, then owner of Bick Broadcasting, and Teresa’s boss and friend for 20 years. “She knew how to work and deal with people. She provided great respect. Her legacy remains. I always told people that I taught her everything she knew, but actually, she taught me. May is tough—all of the holidays are tough.”

“We often said she was the heart and soul,” colleague Cheri Robertson remarked.

Teresa’s roots were in Palmyra. Even in death, she encourages others to give their best.
