Kenneth & Eleanor Lohr Memorial Scholarship Fund

Benefits a Quincy Senior High School graduate

“Dad loved being a pharmacist,” said Kenneth and Eleanor Lohr’s daughter, Denise Pearcy. “And Mom supported Dad’s dream every step of the way.”

Their parents’ passion and hard work in life and in the pharmaceutical profession is the reason Denise and her sister Debra Lohr chose to honor them by establishing a scholarship fund through the Community Foundation.

Mr. Lohr felt strongly that a pharmacist should focus on medical issues and serving the public. Whether he was collecting pharmacy artifacts and stamps or testing drugs at his own expense for government and private agencies, Kenneth dedicated his life to the pursuit of excellence in the field. Mrs. Lohr was a registered nurse who worked by her husband’s side at Lohr’s Prescription Shop.

“Dad encouraged young people to pursue the pharmaceutical profession,” said Denise. Through this scholarship fund, we hope our parents’ passion can inspire and give a step up to a young person interested in the field.”
